CH2M HILL-Hydrogeologist 1 - Groundwater Focus

CH2M HILL's growing Baton Rouge, LA office is seeking a Hydrogeologist for assistance with environmental cleanup projects for private and government clients. We are targeting a May 2008 start date for this position.

The Hydrogeologist will be involved with site investigations (monitoring well installation, design and construction, soil and groundwater sampling, etc.); CERCLA/RCRA process; remedial investigations; groundwater remediation methods; and technical writing. Position is expected to contribute to client relationships, business development and repeat business opportunities. Position requires a BS degree in Geology or Hydrogeology (MS preferred). Candidate must have experience in the use of Microsoft E-mail, Excel and Word; ability to do field work; ability to travel 50 percent of the time; have strong technical writing and oral communication skills; and possess the ability to work in a team environment and provide some technical guidance. CH2M HILL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g. H-1B visa, etc.) to fill this position.

RequiredQualifications:
• BS degree in Geology or Hydrogeology.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
50% travel required.

Preferred:
In addition to the basic qualifications, preferred candidates will have the following:
• MS degree in Hydrogeology from a US accredited university or college is desired.
• Coursework or experience involving environmental regulations, groundwater, and environmental remediation • Internships or projects related to environmental compliance or remediation • 40-Hour HAZWOPER training.

The Reserves Section of the Area Office of Resource Evaluation is looking for talented individuals to serve as Geologists for their office. If selected for this position you will provide geological input required to develop and support the regional analysis of productive trends in the Gulf of Mexico Outer Continental Shelf in direct support of the reserves inventory of individual hydrocarbon bearing reservoirs as well as field and play level classifications.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the geological concepts, principles, and practice related to subsurface reserve and resource evaluation. Knowledge of all types of well logs, the ability to correlate well logs, and perform hydrocarbon analyses from well logs. Knowledge of subsurface reservoir mapping techniques through geologic and geophysical data sets.

If selected for this position you will work in the Reserves Section of the Area Office of Resource Evaluation, Gulf of Mexico OCS Region located in Jefferson, Louisiana.
